L’Allée des Alyscamps
The scene opens with Hercules and Wu Tang planning to steal an artwork.
Wu Tang
Hercules, what kind of artwork are we going to steal today?
Hercules
Ah, Wu Tang, my dear partner. Today, we shall attempt to steal a magnificent artwork called 'L’Allée des Alyscamps'.
Wu Tang
Wow, that sounds impressive! Can you tell me more about it?
Hercules
Certainly, Wu Tang. 'L’Allée des Alyscamps' is a pair of paintings by the renowned Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh. It was painted in 1888 in Arles, France. The artwork depicts autumnal scenes in the Alyscamps, which is an ancient Roman necropolis lined with poplars and stone sarcophagi.
Wu Tang
Hmm, what's a necropolis? And what are poplars and sarcophagi?
Hercules
Oh, right. A necropolis is a large cemetery, like a city of the dead. Poplars are tall, slender trees with leaves that rustle in the wind, and sarcophagi are stone coffins where ancient Romans buried their dead.
Hercules
I must say, Wu Tang, the beauty of 'L’Allée des Alyscamps' is truly mesmerizing. The way Van Gogh captured the autumn colors and the peaceful atmosphere of the ancient tombs is simply breathtaking.
Bob
Hold it right there, Hercules! I've caught you red-handed.
Wu Tang
Oh no, it's Bob! Run, Hercules, run!
Hercules
I won't give up! I must get my hands on the magnificent 'L’Allée des Alyscamps'!
Hercules runs away screaming, determined to fulfill his desire for the artwork.
