All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Yuzo Takada. It follows the story of Kyusaku Natsume, a genius inventor who transplants the brain of a cat into a schoolgirl android. The android, Nuku Nuku, becomes a nekomusume or cat girl. The manga was serialized in Weekly Manga Action and later compiled into a single volume. It has been adapted into two OVA series and one anime television series. The plot focuses on the custody battle for Ryunosuke, Kyusaku's son, and the attempts to reclaim Nuku Nuku's body. The characters include Nuku Nuku, Ryunosuke, Kyusaku, Akiko Natsume, Eimi Yoshikawa, Arisa Sono, and Kyouko Ariyoshi. Nuku Nuku acts as Ryunosuke's bodyguard and attends high school. The first OVA adaptation was released in Japan in six individual episodes. The full anime adaptation, All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku TV, ran for fourteen episodes. The third adaptation is a 12-episode OVA series called All Purpose Cultural Cat-Girl Nuku Nuku DASH!. All three anime adaptations were licensed in North America by ADV Films. Discotek Media licensed the OVA, TV Series, and its Dash!! spin-off for a single-disc SDBD release.
